What happens at a sling meet?!4/22/2016 0 Comments The answer is lots! Our meets are really social, so there are lots of friendly faces to chat to . There is usually cake too! Our meets can be busy, but please don't let that put you off. When you arrive either myself, or one of my helpers will have a quick chat with you and get you to fill in our sign in sheet. The aim of this is to find out what you have come to the meet for, eg to hire a sling, or to get help with your own sling/carrier. It's perfectly fine to come along just for a bit of a chat and pushchairs are absolutely welcome! If you come to a meet at Holy Trinity Church, it would be great if you could pop £2 in the contribution jar to help towards running costs such as room hire and cake. If you need to see me you will be seen in order of arrival. However, if you need to leave by a certain time, please let us know and we will try to accommodate this. Please note that our meets can be really busy. We currently meet fortnightly, I am adding more dates soon, and will also be starting to do individual consultations. If you have any concerns about making sure you get the help you need, please contact me either via the contact form on the website or the facebook page, or speak to me at a meet. Where possible, if there are a group of people interested in something similar, I will try to group everyone together for a group demonstration. You will then get the opportunity to try things out for yourself. and get help with trying them out. If you are interested in hiring a sling, please try to make some time to read the sling library terms and conditions of hire, there are always some laminated copies available at the meet. I hope that you enjoy our sling meets, they are really social events and everyone is very welcoming. If you haven't been before, look for someone with a baby the same age as yours, or someone with a sling you like the look of, or with the same sling as you and have a chat. Sling meets are a great chance to get together and share your babywearing experiences. Please feel free to feed your baby in whatever way you normally do. Please speak to me if you need any help with this or have any concerns. We have regular social meets. These are just about the chat and the cake, the sling library isn't available at these meets. As the weather starts to improve we will start having sling walks again. These have been really great events for everyone to get together and enjoy Carlisle. Make sure you subscribe to our events on facebook to get updates. Please always feel free to ask questions about our meets and given me any constructive feedback you may have. I hope to see you at a meet soon! Jo.
