Carlisle Sling Library has been running for over 2 years now and we hope you agree it has been getting more and more successful in that time. We love helping families and want to help more people.
To help expand the library more we have now registered a social enterprise Carlisle Sling Library CIC (Community Interest Company). We have big plans for the future including;
The first of our exciting plans is a new venue! We have done a LOT of work exploring possible options for venues, trying to find one that fits all the library’s requirements has been really hard. We are really pleased to have found one that we think will work well. We have chosen Hebron Evangelical Church on Botchergate to be our venue for meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We have chosen this because
We would like to express our thanks to Holy Trinity Community Church for all their support in hosting us for the last few years. We will continue to hold meets on the first Saturday of the month in the restaurant at the Sands Centre.
We appreciate that change can be difficult but we hope that you will agree with us that this change in location will be a positive one. As always we will be committed to helping you as much as we can. You will still be able to come to a sling meet for advice and support to help you carry your baby safely and comfortably.
Over the next few weeks you will start to hear from us with our plans for the social enterprise. We want to raise the profile of the library and raise funds so that we can do more! The first fundraising activity will be a sponsored walk. This will be on Saturday 21st October and we will end the walk at our new venue with a bake sale with lots of yummy cakes available to buy to help with the fundraising. Click on the link below for our Just Giving page . We also have traditional sponsor forms available if you would like one, click here or contact us via facebook.
We would love to hear your views and any ideas. At future meets volunteers will have tablets with them to enable them (among other things) to ask visitors to complete a short questionnaire about their experience at the sling meet. You can also contact us any time with your ideas and comments, especially in the transition period. We hope to make the changes happen as smoothly as possible but please bear with us!!!
